Since our last update
Rapid 14 has been buzzing with the arrival of a new Advanced Missions Training class, our biggest fall group to date with 21 students. We had less than 2 weeks between the first class of the year leaving and the second arriving, so it was a quick clean and maintenance of tents, trucks, class equipment, and getting base straightened out. Soon after the students arrived we hosted our second ‘Revival Week’ of the year. These weeks are integral, not only to the training of our future team members, but for our full time missionaries currently serving in the field. It’s always a beautiful time of vision casting, strength renewing and team building.

Joe and I are heavily involved in the logistics of making these conference weeks smooth and successful. We had 120 people in attendance, every one of them staying on base, and it’s truly one of our favorite roles of the year being able to facilitate space and time for each of them to be free to soak in the week.

Alongside maintaining all that is happening here at Rapid 14 we’ve been planning and building future accommodations, Joe’s been working on importing multiple vehicles for our missionaries and we’re finishing projects and packing up trying to prepare to leave for 5 months (something that is never an easy task).

Looking Forward
We are about to head to the U.S for the first time since becoming a family of 3! We are so excited to introduce our son Oliver to family and friends he has not yet had the privilege of meeting.

We are also believing God for more financial support and increased influence and relationships in this season. We are currently funded at about 50% of the budget we need to live and work in Zambia. There have been a lot of financially tight weeks, months and years during our careers as missionaries. But we are raising our faith along with financial support because we have currently hit a wall with what we are able to participate in with our current paycheck coming in.

We have the experience and vision for being involved in the newly pioneered countries and mission bases that Overland is sending people to. Those countries and bases need our expertise and skill set as they set up home and ministry amongst some of the most rural people groups in the world. And often, our finances hold us back from going.

Around our team, we talk about finances as if money is fuel for a car. It’s a resource that allows us to determine our velocity and speed of GOING to the nations. We are increasing our faith for funds as we trust God to increase the generous hearts of those in our influence, because we don’t have time to sit still when there are tribes, tongues and people groups to reach with the Good News of the Gospel of Christ.

As we prepare to leave our home in Zambia to travel, fundraise and build our team for 5 months we are reminded how blessed we are to be in this role. That we get to work alongside an incredible team, with the financial support and encouragement of so many dedicated partners across the globe is a dream, and one we don’t take lightly. We are so excited to share all that God has done and the vision He is expanding within us for the nations!

If you would like to hear more about what it is to be on our support team please email us and we’ll arrange a way we can talk with you.

We are spending 1 week in England on our way to America, and are hosting an open evening to see our friends and supporters.
(details are on Facebook but please email if you’d like to know time and location)

We arrive in New York on October 8th and have our schedule in America pretty much planned out. We’ll soon be sending out a travel edition of our newsletter with our dates and locations set out. We would LOVE to hear from you if you’d like to meet with us as we travel.

With love
Joe, Lilly & Oli

Oli turned 8 months in September, weighs in at 18.5 pounds and is beginning to learn to crawl! He is loving becoming mobile and charms everyone he meets with that smile.
