The Colucci Chronicles – January 2019

The Colucci Chronicles

This year started in a great way, at our annual Overland Missions conference and staff retreat. Alongside our team we celebrated all God has done in the past 12 months, and put into action our dreams and plans for this coming year. We also got to spend time with some of our favorite people, some we don’t get to see for 2 years at a time. It was definitely a highlight being able to introduce Oli to some of my best friends’ babies!
While God works outside our calendars there’s something exciting and hopeful about a new start. Taking time to fill our hearts and refresh our vision with our co-workers has proven necessary over the years. We are fueled and ready for all He has to offer in 2019.

We ended 2018 on a high! After being back in America for just a short time our financial support has increased from 50% to 70%, we have been so encouraged by the way God has brought new partners to us who believe in our work and want to support us long term.
We want to thank everyone who has chosen to sow into our vision and ministry.

We have our return dates booked! We leave for Zambia March 12th, where we will spend 18 – 20 months on the ground. We are so ready to have a full ministry season with Oli in tow. We’ll be strengthening our local ministry and expanding our influence in Livingstone, alongside our highly demanding role in the logistics of our Rapid 14 missions base. This year we are also longing to be able to take trips further out to our newly pioneered countries and missions bases and use our experience to assist in anything and everything from logistical and construction support, to coming alongside ministry and team dynamics.

We are readying ourselves for a full on few years of work and ministry, but we can’t go alone. We’ve spent the past couple of years working from a less than 100% budget and have found it a limiting factor in our work. We are hoping that this year we will be able to run at full capacity – doing all that God has called us to do, and doing it with excellence. That’s where you come in…

We need your support and we’d be honored if you would consider joining our financial partnership team and help us get to 100% funded before we leave!

If you would like to talk to us about what it looks like to be on our team please feel free to email us!
You can also head over to our staff page to get information on donating to us.

Straight after Christmas we left NY ready for January in Florida. Over the next few weeks we’ll be visiting Sarasota, Jacksonville, Cocoa Beach, St Pete and Tampa. We can’t wait to see many of our partners, and visit the Churches who are a huge encouragement to us. If you’re close to us while we’re on our road trip we’d love to hear from you and meet up!

This Sunday we’ll be at Shining Light Church, Sarastoa.

From Florida we drive back up to New York, stopping in North Carolina on the way.

Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter. We are so thankful for each of you, as you all make up our global support team, supporting and encouraging us in our work.
We hope that the start of your year has been refreshing and that you’re looking forward to 2019 with hope!

“God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch His breath. He knows everything inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, and gives fresh strength to dropouts.”
Isaiah 40:28-29

With love, Joe Lilly & Oli
