Revelation 1:8, NIV “I am the Alpha and Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 22:13, KJV I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. |

The Lord proclaims that he is the Alpha and Omega. So what does that mean? Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, it represents the beginning of all things; creation; origin. Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet, it represents the end; the conclusion; finality. He is saying that he is both the start and the end of all things. That is a huge statement. Nothing is responsible for creating God and nothing has the ability to destroy God. He is entirely self-existing and self-sufficient. He depends on no-one, needs nothing and yet desires friendship with you. “God has no origin” is what the priest, Novation, said. How true that is because God originates entirely in Himself and through Him all things find their origin. Everything else imaginable is created and only God is truly original. He is the ultimate beginning. He is the beginning and the end. The culmination of all that He created is in Him also. The greatest story ever written has an ending that is approaching. When He comes back again to earth and we live for eternity on a new earth, finally all things will reach their conclusion. He will finish what He has started with us; He has a perfect plan. Know that the Lord, your God is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the very beginning and the very end. The story has not finished yet, Jesus has said that he is coming very soon. He spoke the first word and rest assured that he will have the last word because he is the Alpha and Omega. |
